Album-photos du luxe palestinien dans les territoires de l'Autorité palestinienne
Ces photos font partie d'un article que j'ai l'intention de traduire, qui analyse plus complètement le niveau de vie des Arabes palestiniens des "territoires disputés" de la rive-ouest du Jourdain, West bank en anglais, ce qui prête moins à confusion, alors qu'en français il est couramment répandu d'utiliser le nom forgé illégalement par la Jordanie quand elle occupait ce territoire entre 1949 et 1967 : "Cisjordanie" qui est un nom sans aucune légalité pour s'approprier de ce territoire, Cis-Jordanie, or il faut savoir que la Jordanie a officiellement renoncé à la souveraineté sur la "Cis-Jordanie depuis 1988 ! Le seul nom géographique correct restant Judée et Samarie depuis les temps bibliques...
Vous allez certainement être surpris de voir le luxe inoui de certaines villas dignes de Beverly Hills, ne ratez pas à la fin celles de la localité Kharas... sans oublier bien sûr le palais de Mahmoud Abbas...

Le paysage de Ramallah est en pleine transformation. Des villas de plusieurs étages ornées de portiques et colonnes monumentaux, s'étendent sur les collines de Ramallah ainsi que des bâtiments en verre et des bureaux en marbre. Des nouvelles routes sont en construction, l'hôtel Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts a été le 1er hôtel cinq étoiles de Ramallah ; cet hôtel de 40 millions de dollars, avec 172 chambres emploie un chef cuisinier de Florence, un chef pâtissier de Paris et accueille les clients dans un hall décoré de marbre et de cuirs précieux italiens.
À travers tout le territoire, on retrouve les mêmes décors, des grues de construction percent le ciel et s'activent. Dans la banlieue de Naplouse (Schekhem), des concessionnaires de voitures neuves vendent toutes les marques de BMW à Hyundai. A Ramallah, le concessionnaire Mercedes dont l'entreprise prospère, vend des voitures de sports et des véhicules utilitaires tout terrain à de riches Arabes palestiniens avec des prix allant de 100.000 $ à 200.000 $. Le Hirbawi Home Center a ouvert juste à l'extérieur de Jénine, c'est un centre commercial de cinq étages qui a coûté 5 millions $. Il a été inauguré avec un grand feu d'artifice. Au cinquième étage le rayon electro-ménager ne manque de rien, on y trouve de tout des écrans de télévision géants jusqu'aux aspirateurs, machines à expresso. Les prix ne sont pas beaucoup moins cher qu'en Israël, sauf peut-être pour le mobilier. On peut trouver des assiettes de porcelaine, de cristal et des meubles classiques. Le PDG de la chaîne, Ziad Tourabi, déclare: "nous savons que nous pouvons avoir de très hauts profits. Beaucoup de gens dans les territoires ont de l'argent mais n'ont nulle part où le dépenser quand ils recherchent la grande qualité, nous leur offrons la meilleure qualité qui existe".
Cela ne correspond pas aux descriptions habituelles de ces territoires de la Judée-Samarie, "Cisjordanie" avec des "camps de réfugiés" (des villes en fait) surpeuplés avec une population soutenue par l'aide internationale... mais pour nombre d'Arabes palestiniens, un écran de télévision plasma, avec son stéréo surround et des canapés confortables sont des éléments de confort indispensables.

La plus grand ville de la rive occidentale (Cisjordanie) est bouillante d'énergie, de vie et de signes de prospérité. Au centre ville, les magasins et restaurants étaient remplis. Il y avait plein de voitures de luxe dans les rues, en fait il y avait énormément plus de BMW et de Mercedes qu'au centre de Jérusalem ou bien de Tel-Aviv, 62

Les boutiques et les restaurants étaient pleins à Hébron. Les villas de taille comparable à celles de la Côte d'Azur ou de Bel Air ont surgi sur les collines autour de la ville. 81
